Underground Services Detection

What we do for you:

Using best in class ground penetrating radar and supplementary Electromagnetic Induction tools combined with over 12 years of experience we assist you to :

Locate and establish depth of any underground services ( water , electricity, sewage, storm water, telecoms and gas )

Ensure pipes and cables containing the services are found before construction and excavation damages occur

Locate services prior to trenching or do as- built services as services are laid.

Provide accurate survey drawings in all CAD and GIS formats maps detailing positions and information about underground services located

Physically marking services and cable routes on site with chalk, spray paint on the surface or with painted stakes in open ground.

Client Testimonial

“Chris Kirchhoff and his team were very responsive and reacted well to the brief. They delivered ahead of the agreed dates, as we had a presentation to our board which we required urgent decisions on. In addition, they were willing a flexible to provide our design team with additional information, which fell outside of our initial brief. We highly recommend 5D Geo’s Aerial drone mapping and 3D mapping services and would have no hesitation in recommending them for similar services.”

What is the typical turnaround time for a project?

The turnaround time varies depending on the project’s complexity and size. For a residential some 5-8 days, for a small warehouse or office park 12 days and larger projects 20-30 days. We will provide a detailed project timeline after the initial assessment.

Are your services compatible with various construction and architectural software?

Yes, our models and data are compatible with most leading construction and architectural software. We generally provide models in Revit 2023 format but can produce IFC and 3D DGN data sets.

What post-production support do you offer?

We offer full post-production assistance, guaranteeing that 3D Point cloud mapping files and data models you receive can be used with optimal efficiency from the outset.

What types of technology do you use for precision detailed site surveys?

We use a combination of advanced technologies such as high-precision GPS, Lidar 3D scanning, and robotic total stations for topographic surveys. For underground services detection, we use Ground Penetrating Radar tools.
